The Piaggio Museum was created in 2000 with the aim of documenting the history of the Piaggio company and of the economic and industrial development of Italian society. The museum is housed in the former “Attrezzeria” (tool shed), one of the oldest buildings in the Pontedera plant, suitably restored for the purpose.
The 5,000 sq.m exhibition displays the Vespa, Piaggio and Gilera collections. The Vespa collection contains the MP5 and MP6 prototypes, the whole series of Vespa classics, and unique gems such as the”Vespa Dalì”, the”Vespa Montlhér” and the “Vespa Siluro”, the latter two also known as “Vespa da record” (record breaking Vespa).
